We're very happy to announce the release of Ian D Hawgood's Tents and Hills. His EP is free to download as MP3, OGG, or FLAC. It will be followed shortly by an on-demand cdr option with additional excellent artwork by Kati Meden.

Nick Yulman's Bone Conductors album is still available for download in the meantime! You can also purchase a poster promoting the release through lulu.com, or a cdr version to hold in your hands.

Luvsounder Sebastian Krueger aka Inlets has also been hard at work on a new record, and he's leaked a new track featuring trumpeter Francis Condon of Beirut. We love it!

It's been too long since our last update, but we're happy to report that the gears are moving again and we've got a full plate of exciting releases ahead of us. Right now we're uploading Stephane Leonard's second LuvSound release - a gorgeous work culled from recordings made in his Brooklyn apartment.

In the coming months we'll see releases from Nick Yulman, The Last Dinosaur, Arno Steinacher, Ludvig Elblaus & Jim Shoenecker, Bryan Killingsworth & Austen Travis, and two special compilations. One consists of reworkings of a piece by Lara Brodsky which will feature remixes by Tsukimono, Stephane Mathieu, and a host of luvsound regulars. The second is the long in the making follow-up to our first compilation, Summer Gate, Sun Made of Gave. We're working on a DVD release that will not only see much of the original music set to video, but a number of remixes as well. This will be our first physical release, and the flagship offering under our "gift economy" distribution system - but more on that later.

In other news, we'd be remiss if we didn't mention that jetsetting LuvSounder Sebastian Krueger of Inlets just accompanied Feist on Saturday Night Live! He's the sunshaded banjo player on the left - fun stuff! That's all for now, we'll do our best to be a little more regular in updates in the future!

we're very happy to report that inlets - vestibule ep has been enjoying a great many downloads so far - thanks everyone! we love sebastian's ep so very much, and it's wonderful to see that we're not alone.

we've made a few fun changes around the site today. you might notice that our plane-jane helvetica header has been replaced by a randomized selection of 'luvsound' settings. we'd like to expand the collection, so we'll be opening the space up to submissions in the near future.

we're also slowly rolling out some space for immediate feedback on the site. immediately below this news item there's a spot for you to leave a little note - we hope you do! we'll also be adding this feature to each release page in the coming days. luvsound is first and foremost a production for the community, so we hope to transform this site into a place we can all gather, share, and discuss in the coming months. stay tuned!

Tomorrow we have another special treat: Guitarist and composer Sebastian Krueger has finished writing his debut EP and has been gracious enough to let us release it. Sebastian records as Inlets and plays the guitar in Shara Worden's band, My Brightest Diamond. The EP is stellar, and we hope you'll join us tomorrow for our online release. In the meantime, later today you'll be able to listen to a preview exclusive track from Sebastian's EP on Stereogum. Till then!

Luv011 is reaching fever pitch, and will be online soon, followed by an edition of 100 - our first physical release. We're working on a very fun package, with a poster from LuvSound contributor Justine Reimnitz!

Mattin, who has graciously contributed a track to Luv011, will be participating in an event with a theme close to our hearts on Saturday. He'll be joined by Eddie Prevost (AMM) and Alan Courtis (Reynols) for a discussion on "the potential of improvised music to be antagonistic to the market laws." A performance by Courtis and Sakada (Mattin and Prevost) will follow. More information here.

LuvSound is pleased to announce this carefully sculpted ep from Berlin's Stephane Leonard.

TRi is all about connecting loose ends. Assembled with self coded max-msp software, a microphone and a small selection of external sound sources, Leonard's music compels careful, intimate listening - and sounds draw constellations of connections in a starry sonic space.

Stephane Leonard is actively involved in the contemporary art and music scene in Berlin and Bremen, performing with improv groups JuliJuni, Leo Mars Ensemble and plastic doll. He also collaborates with various bands, video artists, filmmakers and solo performers (dis.playce, Seidenmatt, Marcel Türkowsky, Claudio Pfeifer). Moreover he is a member of the naiv super artist collective that publishes and promotes modern composers, adventurous musicians and the naivsuperFilm collective.

We're very happy to announce the debut solo recording from Italian Max/MSP maverick, Hellospiral.

Born in Italy, where he lives and works, Hellospiral is Giacomo Governatori, a sociologist/guitarist. In 1995 he was the guitar hero of his block, in 1999 he founded a post-punk-noise band named "Edible Woman" whose CD "Spare/me calf" came out in 2001. At the same time he devotes himself to electronic composition alternating his passion for melody and for noises, still uncertain of what attracts him more. Equally influenced by Gilles Deleuze and Brian Wilson, Hellospiral explores the pop/avantgarde dialectics hoping never to arrive at a proper synthesis.

The EP also features remixes by LuvSound regulars Bryan Teoh and He Can Jog.
